Overview
The Bahá’í community life involves a diverse range of activities which are
characterised by a spirit of loving fellowship as well as their inclusiveness.
Inspired by the belief that the message of Bahá’u’lláh is
for all of humanity, Bahá’í community activities are open to everyone and you
are welcome to participate in any of them regardless of your background, ideas
or beliefs.
The spiritual transformation of society is the ultimate goal of all Bahá’í
endeavours. Therefore like
all other Bahá’í communities throughout the world, the Bahá’ís of South Warwickshire are engaged in a
number of core activities to enhance this process of spiritual transformation
in our area, a transformation which is based on action and not mere words.
"Let deeds not
words be your adorning" -Bahá’í Writings,

Study CirclesIn a society so materially advanced we have developed many skills enabling
us to deal with complexities of everyday life. Yet a simple act of service such
as visiting a friend and together studying the Word of God or having an
uplifting discussion around spiritual matters presents itself as a challenge.
In a study circle, participants study in depth some of the Bahá’í Writings to
gain knowledge, spiritual insights and skills which enable them to perform
various spiritual acts of service. Reflections on the Life of the Spirit
is the first in a sequence of books developed for this purpose. It focuses on
our relationships with one another and God, and the journey of the soul.

Moral and Spiritual Education of ChildrenChildren are the treasures of our community and through Bahá’í Children’s
Classes they are nurtured to become youth and adults possessing universal
values, who uphold high morals and who are unhampered by the negative social
influences surrounding our everyday life. Bahá’í spiritual education also
provides the children with an all-embracing global perspective, empowering and
enabling them to serve humanity in their own way and help make a difference in
the world.

Prayer and Devotional GatheringsDevotional gatherings are regularly held in various localities throughout South Warwickshire for the purpose of
communal worship of God, through the recitation of readings and prayers
accompanied by uplifting music. There are no rituals and you can simply sit,
meditate and enjoy the spiritual atmosphere.

Junior Youth Empowerment
Programme
The Junior
Youth Programme is
designed for young people age 11 ro 14. The groups meet regularly and with the
assistance of a trained older youth as facilitator, participate in
various activities, such as discussions, recreation, activities and service
projects.
The
groups are supported to take ownership for their spiritual and
intellectual development, to develop a strong sense of purpose and
volition needed to make good decisions, and to engage in meaningful
social action in their communities.
The project is
devoted to involving junior youth in programmes of activity that will:
- Engage their
interests,
- Mould their
capacities for service to others,
- Assist them to
transform their own lives and that of the society,
- And involve
them in positive social interaction with the community.
